Recorded during lockdown completely DIY. The song is filled with antidotes about being a musician, touring and life on the road. Going from town to town, hotel to hotel and also, playing another show for no fee. Musically, the sound reflects the somewhat frantic nature of life on the road and the hussle of trying to make it in the music industry. Illustrating the harder edge to the duo’s sound. The song was written around the title idea and a central guitar riff. Once those two elements were in place, the song was written pretty quickly. Then refined and arranged in the studio.

Filled with energy and bite the song was made for a live show. As such, the song was debuted on the mainstage at Pub In The Park, Warwick. Their first gig since the pandemic. The crowd response to the song was electric. So hopefully, the song will enter people’s lives and become a live favourite.

New Single – Break The Chains

We are so happy to announce our new single, “Break The Chains” is out now. “Break The Chains” is the third single from our upcoming five-track EP ‘No Hope Without Love’.

You can listen to the single across all digital platforms by clicking HERE.

You can also buy a signed limited edition (Limited to 50) CD copy of the EP.

Break The Chains’ is the duo’s most socially aware/political song to date. Inspired by the protest songs of Dylan, Woody Guthrie and of course, our namesake “Bruce Springsteen”.

The song was written after seeing the news throughout 2020 onwards where allot of social topics such as racism, gender equality and human rights were brought to the fore. We were compelled to write this song as a reply to all of this and also as a way to make sense of it all. The song is a call to arms to every human on the planet to come together as one united human race, be kind to each other and put out the fires of hatred and discrimination before it’s too late and there is no way back for us.

New Single – Aint Nobody Got Me Here But Me

We are so happy to announce that our next single will be called ‘Aint Nobody Got Me Here But Me’ and it will be out on 29th January 2021. It is available to Pre-Save on Spotify now by clicking HERE.

The song itself is probably the most personal song we have ever written. It is written about the inner battles we face as independent musicians and all the sacrifices we make in the pursuit of our dreams. Be it a steady income, the ability to have a comfortable life, the ‘normal’ life path and of course dealing with the constant rejection. Knowing that your love of music will carry you forward. However, what happens when love isn’t enough to get you through and you want to give up. But we learn to accept this situation and as much as we may moan about it and wish for a more comfortable life we know that we cannot blame anyone for the decisions we make and we have to live with those decisions. There “ain’t nobody got me here but me”.

The song is written about the personal account of Chris and his most recent struggles of whether to continue with music or give up, realising that time may have indeed run out, especially as lockdown began and all planned work, festivals and tours were cancelled. Recalling the various stages of depression with lyrics that recall “spending my life thinking of a way I can make it out”. Also, the somewhat tragic yet witty recollection of buying a phone to make an urgent call for help only to find that the phone didn’t work. The song also recalls all the people who have come and gone and all the people who constantly tell you to “get a real job”. The song does however have a slight glimmer of hope when Chantelle spends her last pay cheque on a guitar as a declaration of faith and belief that everything will be alright.

You can also buy a limited edition CD of the single direct from us. These will be limited to only 50 copies and will be hand signed by us. You can get a copy below
