When You Were Mine – Teaser Trailer

We thought that we would treat you to a little teaser of our new single , When You Were Mine, which is out on 20th May.

It is now available to pre-save on Spotify. By clicking this link:https://presave.to/mRMRDB718

The single is a very different sound for us and also name-checks David Gray who is one of our favourite artists and musical idols. We have wanted to name-check something in a lyric for a long time, so it is good to finally tick that one off the bucket list.

As independent artists we really depend on pre-saves as it lets Spotify know that people are interested in the song. Therefore it will push the song further up the rankings, giving it more of a chance of landing a vital Spotify Editorial Playlist.

Check out the trailer video below:

Recorded during lockdown completely DIY. The song is filled with antidotes about being a musician, touring and life on the road. Going from town to town, hotel to hotel and also, playing another show for no fee. Musically, the sound reflects the somewhat frantic nature of life on the road and the hussle of trying to make it in the music industry. Illustrating the harder edge to the duo’s sound. The song was written around the title idea and a central guitar riff. Once those two elements were in place, the song was written pretty quickly. Then refined and arranged in the studio.

Filled with energy and bite the song was made for a live show. As such, the song was debuted on the mainstage at Pub In The Park, Warwick. Their first gig since the pandemic. The crowd response to the song was electric. So hopefully, the song will enter people’s lives and become a live favourite.

New Single – You Had It All

We are so happy to announce that our brand new single “You Had It All” is out now. You can stream the single across all digital platforms by clicking HERE.

The Rising - You Had It All

We are super excited about this single because its the first time we have featured a guest singer on any of our music. Namely, this track features Stephen A. Quinn. Stephen initially brought the song to us and we collaborated heavily on the song. Bringing it to life. Stephen is also a super talented artist and his art adorns the cover of the single.

The song itself is based upon the story of a very personal breakup. But, we all thought that it would be interesting to turn the song into a duet. Allowing us to take the listener on a journey and explore two narratives. In essence, making the song a conversation between the two characters. Where the characters jostle with their respective emotions until they realise that neither has won, they have both lost something.

“You Had It All” is the first of five singles from the upcoming EP “No Hope Without Love”.

2AM Call

We are so happy to announce that our next single will be called ‘2AM Call’ and it will be out on 30th Oct.

The song will be the first song we have released to feature a co-write. For this song we have the immense pleasure of writing with fellow Northern Irish Artist and Songwriter Eilís. You can check out their music HERE.

The song is available to Pre-Save on Spotify now by clicking HERE

You can also buy a limited edition CD of the single direct from us. These will be limited to only 50 copies and will be hand signed by us. You can get a copy below

The song is written after a night out in a bar (The Parlour – mentioned in the song) where we observed a guy sitting at a bar talking to the bartender. He then went outside where he had an argument with a Girl. Minutes later He arrived back in to the same place and began talking again to the bar tender who began to console him.

We later found out that he had arrived with the Girl and they had just broken up. After witnessing this we thought that it would make a great narrative for a song. So after arriving back to Eilís’ apartment we wrote down the skeleton of the song. We constructed the narrative that the couple had broken up and in a distraught state the guy calls the Girl every night at 2am after drowning his sorrows asking for forgiveness. Wondering why She left him and dreaming of a way to get her back.

The song was finished after several writing sessions and a demo session where we fleshed out the arrangement.

Better Than This is an uplifting story which deals with the theme that no matter how hard things seem, they can always get better. It follows the two central characters. One, is a singer songwriter who is struggling hard playing in all the dive bars She can to make a go at being a successful musician. But no matter how hard they try they just can’t seem to make any progress. The second character a successful business Man who ends up loosing everything because they squandered all their money playing a game of keeping-up-with-the-Jones’. So they are forced to get a new job to rebuild everything. As the two characters continue on with their journeys they cross paths in the middle and realise that things will get better and they just have to keep working on their dreams.

This song recalls heavily on the duos love of storytelling and the musician character is semi-autobiographical, covering the struggles of being an independent musician in today’s world. Especially with the current climate where musicians main revenue stream is being pulled away from them due to the worldwide pandemic. But within that darkness we must have faith in our dreams and push through, knowing that things will indeed get better. A universal message for everyone.
